Aluminum Extrusion

If you need aluminum profiles for your product or project you can be sure that when you contact STRIMEX, you have come to the right place.

Designing the ultimate profile in close cooperation with you is our daily
work. Extrusion is done with technologically advanced systems, in order to ensure high quality standards in terms of mechanical characteristics and tolerance.

The technology, knowledge and experience allow us to produce the most complex forms and customized products to a precision of 0.02 mm. Sometimes precision extrusion can be a perfect alternative for machining.

Precision extrusion for high precision applications : dimensional tolerances from ± 0.02 mm. Precision extrusion unmatched. An exceptional level of specialization guarantees dimensional tolerances from ± 0.02 mm. We can achieve ten times more precision than NEN-EN 12020-2, the standard for
aluminum extrusion.

Our profiles exceed the standard with regard to straightness, torsion, concentricity, parallelism, surface roughness and fit. We manufacture in a single process run, which means high quality and reliability. CNC post-processing is therefore often not necessary.

The common aluminum grades, but much more depending your needs

EN AW-3103 : The EN AW-3103 allow is used in construction where the corrosion resistance requirements are predominant with respect to mechanical strength, i.e. where the chemical reaction between the metal and the surrounding fluids (be they fuel, the atmosphere or technical fluids used for chemical preservation) must be reduced to the minimum. This extruded alloy is mainly used in pipes and machinery in the chemical, fuel and cooling industry.

EN AW-6060 : The EN AW-6060 alloy is the most common extrusion alloy in the European market, due to its high speed in hot forming. It allows the production of bars with complex sections, comprising of multiple cavities and grooves, so that the extrusion is as close as possible to the finished product desired and intermediate machining is reduced to the minimum.

EN AW-6063 : The extrusions of EN AW 6063 aluminum alloy are used in environmental conditions of high corrosion, where mechanical strength is an essential requirement, albeit with low-medium numeric values, or for structural functions of secondary level.

EN AW-6106 : The EN AW 6106 alloy represents an excellent compromise able to meet the requirements of good mechanical strength, good weld ability, high complexity in the section shape of the bar, reduction in wall thickness of hollow extrusions, good surface machining and finishing. Its applications range from auto motive structures (space frame) to railway applications (carriage structure) and the naval industry.

EN AW-6005A : The extrusions of EN AW 6005 A aluminum alloy are used in all the different sectors of industry, construction and engineering which require medium mechanical strength, also on the welded parts, and good levels of corrosion resistance. The chemical composition and the production processes used make this alloy easy to quench; therefore the required mechanical properties are achieved even in those parts of the bar which are not fully exposed to heat exchange.

EN AW-6061 : Among the alloys used for structural applications, EN AW 6061 is widely used due to the medium-high levels of mechanical strength it reaches following quenching (tempering and artificial aging). The most frequent applications regard the manufacture of bolts and rivets, standard bars for mechanical machining, civil structures (bridges, towers, pylons), structural parts for transport (lorry chassis, naval structures, railway carriages, aeronautical applications).

EN AW-6082 : The extrusions in EN AW-6082 alloy are used as structural and mechanical components where high mechanical strength and rigidity are requested associated with an acceptable level of corrosion resistance. The chemical composition and parameters of extrusion are formulated to allow the manufacture of bars with sections of medium complexity, comprising cavities and grooves.
